KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender Review

The KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender is a blender that offers high-quality performance at a considerably reasonable price. Considering all the things it’s capable of, its modest pricing and design, the KitchenAid would be a welcome addition to any small appliance lineup. Check out more on my KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender Review below!

Packaging and Design

The KitchenAid 5 Speed Diamond Blender has this classic-looking design like that of old blenders making it the perfect blend of vintage and modern look. While the base measures seven inches wide and nine inches deep, it still will leave a smaller footprint than the bulkier ones. The narrower more rounded design of KitchenAid blender gives the appliance a sleeker appearance.

The KitchenAid blender comes with a 60-ounce pitcher that is BPA-free, shatterproof and scratch proof. Unlike other blenders, its pitcher doesn’t need to be locked due to the design. The lids feel equally designed as well, with a primary lid and an inner lid that you can remove while blending to add ingredients. When the inner lid is removed, space is large enough that you can easily add ingredients but not that large to cause the contents to splatter easily.

KitchenAid is available in various colors ranging from the traditional white, black and stainless to the more colorful apple green, watermelon pink, and tangerine orange. Available to most KitchenAid brand is the option for customization so you are sure to find that matches the color scheme of your kitchen. This feature gives this blender an aesthetic edge. KitchenAid comes with a category standard, one-year hassle-free replacement warranty.

Performance

The KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender’s performance is the same if not better than the models with wider pitchers. Given how narrow the bottom of the pitcher is, the blades have more contact with food that may be stuck to the sides. The blender forces food upwards because there is less room at the bottom. This kitchen blender also features Intelli-Speed motor control. This technology senses the mixture of food in your blender and automatically chooses an appropriate speed to ensure that it has the right amount of power to complete the food-processing task. The diamond blending system ensures that all ingredients blend together quickly and efficiently.

The control panels are simple but balanced with functionality. It may not have an LCD window or display but its elegant interface does not lack the buttons with option to stir, chop, mix, puree and liquefy. The pulse option lets you choose the speed and power of pulse, ranging from one to five. This is particularly useful when making whipped cream. This blender is easy to use due to its easy-to-understand control panel.

It is easy to clean because it has only three parts to wash as the blades are inseparable from the pitcher, the main lid and the inner lid. The ice crush preset works really well and quickly, it’s not like snow but it works. KitchenAid makes excellent, fluffy whipped cream which saves you from having to use a hand-mixer and whisk attachments.

Verdict

The KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender is a great option if you are looking for an affordable blender that can multi-task and do more than just make smoothies. It is well equipped for certain foods and conditions but it’s not very versatile. Considering the price, KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender is an excellent choice because this blender can not just power through milkshakes, smoothies or other frozen beverages, it can break the block of cheese as well.

Good: The KitchenAid 5-Speed Diamond Blender is a consistent, reliable partner among other blenders that were tested. The preparation and clean-up are easy and take little time. It has a steel-reinforced coupler that provides direct power transfer from motor directly to the blade for robust blending and is coated for quiet operation. It is reasonably priced and has a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty.

Not so good: The 5 Speed Diamond Blender may take longer to process certain ingredients depending on the desired consistency because it doesn’t have the high level of power of other blenders. Recipes other than smoothies do not work well especially with its blending power. It does not work as well with nuts or soup ingredients.
